Limited edition of 20 numbered cassettes of various colors housed in clear vinyl clam shell box with covers printed on 67lb ivory vellum, silver foil labels, custom OBI strip and bonus art print insert. “War is a terrible thing. But, people get creative when they’re under pressure. During the Vietnam war, an interesting recording was created which was made in order to try and trick fear into the enemy.
It was made up of ghost sounds and eerie melodies that were blasted through loudspeakers in the jungle. I can’t say for sure that it worked, but I can say that it was a very interesting approach to psychological warfare.
For this particular cassette release, the “ghost” tape has been edited and sampled over two long pieces of experimental/abstract music created with an analog monophonic synthesizer and custom tape loops.
The release is scheduled for June 18th. It’s limited to 20 cassettes of various colors housed in clamshell boxes with covers printed on 67lb ivory vellum, silver foil labels, OBI strip and art print card. If you’re interested in history and experimental music then you’ll want to pick one up before they disappear into obscurity.
